Four loan options are available for qualifying Maine homeowners. Rates and terms are set by Efficiency Maine and subject to change — confirm current details on their site before applying.
1-Year Loan
- Term: 1 year
- Max loan: $25,000
- Fee: $500 origination fee
Lowest total interest — note the one-time $500 origination fee.
5-Year Loan
- Term: 5 years
- Max loan: $25,000
- Fee: No origination fee
Balanced monthly payment with no upfront fee.
10-Year Loan
- Term: 10 years
- Max loan: $25,000
- Fee: No origination fee
Lowest monthly payment over the longest term.
Income-Based 10-Year Loan
- Term: 10 years
- Max loan: $7,500
- Fee: No origination fee
For income-eligible (low- or moderate-income) households verified by Efficiency Maine.
Please note: the 1-year 0% APR loan includes a $500 origination fee. The 5-year and 10-year options have no origination fee.
Who Qualifies?
- You own the property (or have an ownership interest) and it is your principal residence in Maine.
- The upgrades are installed by an Efficiency Maine Residential Registered Vendor — which we are.
- Loans can cover heat pumps, insulation and air sealing, and related health and safety improvements.
- The income-based option requires income eligibility (low- or moderate-income) verified by Efficiency Maine.
