Ductless Mini-Split Installation

In the harbor-side neighborhoods such as Willard Beach, Ferry Village and Knightville, a house on a small lot may have only one practical wall for an outdoor unit, sometimes the one facing a neighbor's driveway. We look at noise, snow shedding from the roof, and how the line set can run neatly along trim instead of across a facade. Farther inland, in areas such as Thornton Heights and Redbank, larger yards usually give more options. Wherever the house sits, the indoor head should go where its airflow can reach the doorway to the next room, not tucked behind a bookcase or above a bed.

Efficiency Maine's rebates are calculated per eligible single-zone outdoor unit. As of mid-2026, the amounts are $3,000 per unit for verified low-income households, $2,000 for moderate income, and $1,000 for any income, with lifetime caps of $9,000, $6,000 and $3,000 per housing unit.
