Ductless Mini-Split Installation

Nearly half of Buxton's homes were built before 1980, according to the Census Bureau American Community Survey (2020–2024): about 19% before 1940 and another 30% between 1940 and 1979. Houses from those eras often have no ductwork at all, or ducts too small to move the volume of air a heat pump needs. That makes ductless mini-splits the natural fit for a large share of the town. Where a house already has a hot-water boiler, ductless heads can take over most of the heating while the boiler loop stays in place for emergencies.

A manufactured home can take a ductless head on an exterior wall with the outdoor unit on a ground stand, which avoids working through the belly ductwork that many of them rely on. Historic homes deserve care of their own.
